Featured- InSANe Art Of The Week - Sean Brady, M42

Apologies for the delay this time around, Aldo Spadoni has kindly helped us out with a third choice, has made his second choice and it is M42 by Sean Brady

Sean Brady, "M42"

Aldo says:

My third choice is M42, The Great Nebula in Orion, by Sean Brady.

This is nicely composed and balanced painting that is so very pleasing to the eye. The great nebula is beautifully rendered with subtle coloration. What an awesome sight! Sean has scaled and cropped the nebula in a very interesting fashion, making it almost look like some majestic flying creature with outstretched wings soaring over the horizon.

The landscape is particularly well matched to the background. The hills in the foreground have a subtle softness to

them that works really well. This is classic space art at its finest.

One can’t really tell if this painting was created with traditional or digital techniques, and that’s the way it should be. No matter how he did it, Sean’s skill as an artist shines through. Great work, Sean!

Thanks Nick. This picture is one of the last I realised the old traditionnal way for the press. Always acrobatic to find a good lightning equilibrium with a close shining star in the field.

I really like the use of colour here - and I have always had a liking for panoramic formats.
