Thanks Nick. This picture is one of the last I realised the old traditionnal way for the press. Always acrobatic to find a good lightning equilibrium with a close shining star in the field.

Lovely composition - I'm going to have to try a scene with a big star in the field of view...

How did I miss this before? A lovely excuse for some very dramatic bottom-up lighting, brilliant!

very short bio

I'm born in 1959 in France. I'm essentially a self taught artist.
My professional beginnings take place at the end of the 70's realising cover illustrations for paper backed SF books and later, after... let's say a rather touristic sojourn in Science University I worked for comics.
I progressively specialised in scientific illustration for french press and edition mainly in the astronomical and astronautical fields.
I worked for the CNES, the ESA and for exhibitions at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie and planetariums.

Hi Lionel You really need to show viewers your work, which is among the best (and most accurate) that I have seen. Hope the Paris show went well?

Very best,

Hi Lionel,

With the IYA2009-UNESCO symposium 260 behind you, perhaps you'll be kind enough to share your experience with us as to your experience and reception as the IAAA representative during the exhibition? What was it like? Was the art by artists of other parallel organizations and/or independent studios the caliber to be expected by such a format? How did you feel about your own presentation? Did you get to use a laptop projector inside the gallery during your talk after all despite the grumblings and hesitance of a stereo-grapher? Had I not had access to a laptop during my presentation at the Hungarian National Academy of Sciences in March 2005, indeed I too would have been extremely frustrated and ineffective to get my message across. Fortune had it, that all worked out in my case. Hope yours did too.

My best personal regards,
